OLD BUSINESS

Chemainus 2006, and plans for 2007

The club discussed participation in this year’s Chemainus accordion festival and plans for the 2007 festival, particularly since the organizing committee in Chemainus has indicated that it’s likely the festival would not continue in its present form.

After much discussion among members, there was a fairly strong consensus of those at meeting that we should do an accordion festival in Victoria at some time. It was left that the VAC members volunteering on this year’s Chemainus organizing committee would meet separately and discuss options, and bring back some recommendations for discussion at October VAC meeting.

 MUSIC

Three people played for the enjoyment of guests and members:

Ken Beattie - Beyond the Reef, Old Cape Cod, Three coins in the fountain, Red Sails in the Sunset

Stan Czemerynski - Fur Elise, An Angel Dream and 1/3 of Viveo (his new piece)

Irv Lang - Pavilions Noir (black butterfly), Cie Si Bon, and Tangerine.
