BAND REPORT – Ron Sera

Band has been active, performing several times recently – all performances promoted the festival.

Ø April 5th at Korean community fund raiser.

Ø April 26th at Sannich Arts Festival Cedar Hill Rec. Centre.

Ø April 30th at Cancer volunteers appreciation luncheon in Victoria

Ø Upcoming: Victoria May Day Parade May 19th. Will require about 5-6 club members; 2 sitting in car playing accordions and the remaining walking along or cycling. Background recorded music will play on loudspeaker. Decorate Ron’s truck day before; be at parade area 8 a.m. Monday.

FESTIVAL REPORT

Carol Jones has typed list for needed volunteer positions. In the near future, Carol Jones and Zosia Locz will be contacting club members with requests to volunteer for preparing for the festival and/or during the festival.

Posters and banners promoting accordion festival are completed and being distributed.

Zosia Lacz’s backyard miniature garden will be featured in walking garden tour on June 22^nd. She is expecting up to 500 people to visit her garden. Zosia thought it would be a good opportunity to advertise the accordion festival too. She is asking for a few accordionists to volunteer to play during the day. Stan, Patty, Carol, Irv, Natasha, and Ron have volunteered to help out.

Irv Lang in looking for the music to Tantalizin’ by Charles Magnante. Please give Irv a call if you know where get this music.

We sung Happy Birthday to Irv Lang and served a nicely decorated cake to mark his 80th. All the best to Irv.

Ø Stan Czemerynski played a beautiful Russian selection followed by a number entitled, Indifference.

Ø Brian Money played Accordiana by Charles Magnate, Granada, Chiquilin De Bachin, Oblivion and Student Prince Serenade.

Ø Irv Lang played April Showers, Mine Driller Polka and Lydia Mazurka.

Ø Guest performer, Jeff Olafson played the German waltz Dreaming, Big Parade, Injun Song and Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes.

Ø Patty Forman played Could I Have This Dance, You’re Still the One, La Vie En Rose and Twilight Time.
